Pesquisa Diz: Rádio Continua Liderando Sobre Os Serviços De Streaming
Survey Says: Radio Still Holds Strong Lead Over Streaming for Listeners
Pandora and Spotify are top dogs in the music streaming space, but they still (still!) can't hold a candle to radio in terms of listener loyalty, according to new data from Morning Consult.
A survey, conducted online earlier this month among 2,000 adults found that 37 percent of them listen to the radio most, followed Pandora (17 percent), purchased music (15 percent) and Spotify (9 percent). Only 12 percent of all adults said they do not listen to radio at all. Among active listeners, 32 percent said they tune in more than once a day, 19 percent said once a day and 16 percent said they flick the switch a few times a week. The data showed that people in the 30-54 age range listen most often.
As for leading streamers, 69 percent of respondents said they don't use Apple Music, 65 percent said they're not on Spotify and 45 percent said the same for Pandora. Apple Music's heaviest users (meaning, more than once a day) are between 18-29, at 11 percent. The same age group makes up the heaviest listeners for Spotify (20 percent of Spotify users) and Pandora (22 percent) as well, though the latter also has a lot of super-active listeners between ages 30-44 (15 percent) and ages 45-54 (11 percent).
In the coveted 18-29 age group, Pandora tops Spotify 28-23 percent. Among respondents who voted for Hillary Clinton, 17 percent were Pandora devotees while 10 percent prefer Spotify. Only 7 percent of Donald Trump voters listen to Spotify the most, but 14 percent prefer Pandora over all. For both candidates, AM/FM was king, with 44 percent of Donald voters and 36 percent of Hillary voters saying they prefer turning the dial over other available choices.
When it comes to other streaming services, the number of adults who consider themselves regular users drops dramatically. When asked to compare all choices for which service they use most, 5 percent said Amazon Prime; 4 percent said iHeartRadio and Google Play, respectively; 3 percent for Apple Music; and Tidal earned a statistical zero percent.
Morning Consult also looked into whether Grammy nominations wield any influence with listeners. According to the data, 45 percent of respondents said they were more likely to listen to a song/artist/album if nominated, and 32 percent said a nod made it more likely for them make a purchase.
Facebook Estreia "Live Audio" Para Podcast E Radio
Facebook Debuts Live Audio Broadcasts
The BBC and HarperCollins are two of the publishers chosen by Facebook to test out its new answer to podcasting and radio, called Live Audio. The social network announced the feature on Tuesday, explaining in a blog post that "we know that sometimes publishers want to tell a story... with words and not video."
Like Facebook Live video, the Audio iteration allows 'casters to go live with a click. Users will get a notification that someone they follow has gone live, and the audio player display includes the same options for commenting, reacting and sharing -- just without the video. The other main difference with video is that Live Audio can be enjoyed while doing other stuff on your device. Android users will be able to listen to a live audio broadcast even if they leave Facebook or lock their phones, while iOS users can continue listening while browsing the rest of Facebook.
"From interviews to book readings, we’re excited about the layer of interactivity that Live Audio brings to both the broadcaster and listener," Facebook said.
Facebook also sees Live Audio as a way to connect broadcasters from less-connected parts of the world with a wider audience, setting up a potentially helpful tool for news outlets looking to amplify a story. If a video broadcaster's signal begins to diminish while in a low-connectivity area, the app will allow them to switch over to the lighter Live Audio option in order to continue streaming.
As with Facebook Live and other streaming video platforms like Periscope (and the late Meerkat), legal issues are sure to be raised about the audio feature. Proper licenses from performing rights bodies would be needed for a radio station to broadcast a concert (streams can last up to four hours, and are archived), and a company could potentially violate a record labels' master rights if a user streamed a sound recording on Live Audio. Privacy is also an issue, given that someone could theoretically stream a conversation without someone's knowledge.
If you want to see Live Audio in action in the coming weeks, Facebook has tapped the BBC World Service, HarperCollins, British talk-radio station LBC and authors Adam Grant and Brit Bennett for testing. The company plans to take the new format wide to other "publishers and people" early next year.

O Local Do Festival De Woodstock Foi Indicado Para Ser Um Lugar Histórico
Woodstock Festival Site Nominated For Historic Registers
The site of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival is one of the properties in New York nominated to the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the nominations Tuesday of 26 properties, resources and districts by the New York State Broad of Historic Preservation.
The sites include the Woodstock site in rural Bethel in Sullivan County, where some 400,000 fans gathered on rolling farmland for three days of rock music in August 1969. Also nominated is the Niagara Power Project Historic District, a major 20th-century engineering feat stretching along the Niagara River.
Landing a place on the registers can help property owners and organizations secure preservation grants and historic rehabilitation tax credits from the state and federal governments.
Tupac Shakur, Pearl Jam, Journey, Yes, ELO & Joan Baez São Alguns Dos Indicados Para Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2017
Tupac Shakur, Pearl Jam, Journey, Yes, ELO & Joan Baez Are 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees
Five first-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees -- Pearl Jam, Journey, Electric Light Orchestra, Joan Baez and Tupac Shakur -- will join three-time nominee Yes as the shrine's 2017 inductees.
Nile Rodgers, frontman of 11-time nominees Chic, will also receive an Award for Musical Excellence at the 32nd annual Rock Hall induction ceremony, taking place April 7 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. SiriusXM will broadcast the ceremony live and it will again be filmed for a later telecast on HBO.

This will mark the third time in four years the induction ceremony has been held at the Barclays Center after moving from its previous Manhattan home at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. An on-sale date for tickets will be announced in January, with Rock Hall members receiving access to a pre-sale. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum in Cleveland will open a special exhibit on March 30 to honor the 2017 inductees.
The inductees began reacting to the news immediately. Yes drummer Alan White told Billboard that after two previous nominations, "It's totally exciting. It's a great pleasure to be recognized for something you've been doing all your life and get recognition in the industry for the amount of work you've put in and to have done something that changed the course of history, I guess, over time."
Former Yes singer/guitarist Trevor Rabin concurred, telling Billboard he was "feeling very grateful about the news of Yes getting inducted into the Hall of Fame. Yes is a band that pioneered a genre and has always been eclectic in nature, and we’ve been so lucky to have such amazing and supportive fans that have championed Yes music in all its forms. It is with incredible pride that we accept this honor."
Baez issued a statement, saying, "I never considered myself to be a rock and roll artist. But as part of the folk music boom which contributed to and influenced the rock revolution of the 60's, I am proud that some of the songs I sang made their way into the rock lexicon. I very much appreciate this honor and acknowledgement by the Hall of Fame."
Journey, as well as Yes and ELO, have often been cited as Rock Hall snubs in previous years. Keyboardist Jonathan Cain previously told Billboard that even being nominated felt like a victory. "It's just been a little bit of a wait. I think it was patience. We just had to be patient. I figured it would come around," Cain said. Journey, in fact, topped the fan ballot conducted by the Rock Hall, with 250,758 votes. ELO, Pearl Jam and Yes were also in the top five and each received a vote added to the tally cast from more than 900 Rock Hall voters.
Acts are eligible for the Rock Hall 25 years after the release of their first recording. In addition to Chic, others on the ballot this year included Bad Brains, Chaka Khan, Depeche Mode, Jane's Addiction, J. Geils Band, Janet Jackson, Joe Tex, Kraftwerk, MC5, Steppenwolf, The Cars and The Zombies.

Controlando O Medo Desconhecido Da Indústria Da Música
Managing The Fear Of The Unknown In The Music Industry
All most everybody in the music industry worries about what will happen in the future in regards to their career. The prospect of not knowing if something good or bad will happen in the near future can produce a lot of fear and anxiety. As a result, here is a list of techniques and suggestions on how to manage this fear of dealing with the unknown in the music industry.
Remember that no one can predict the future with one hundred percent certainty. Even if the thing that you are afraid of does happen there are circumstances and factors that you can’t predict which can be used to your advantage. For instance, let’s say at your place of work that you miss the deadline for a project you have been working on for the last few months. Everything you feared is coming true. Suddenly, your boss comes toyour office and tells you that the deadline is extended and that he forgot to tell you the day before. This unknown factor changes everything. Remember that we may be ninety-nine percent correct in predicting the future, but all it takes is for that one percent to make a world of difference.
Learn to take it one day at a time. Instead of worrying about how you will get through the rest of the week or coming month, try to focus on today. Each day can provide us with different opportunities to learn new things and that includes learning how to deal with your problems. When the time comes, hopefully you will have learned the skills to deal with your situation.
Sometimes, we can get anxious over a task that we will have to perform in the near future. When this happens, visualize yourself doing the task inyour mind. For instance, you and your team have to play in the championship volleyball game in front of a large group of people in the next few days. Before the big day comes, imagine yourself playing the game in your mind. Imagine that you’re playing in front of a large audience. By playing the game in your mind, you will be better prepared to perform for real when the time comes. Self-Visualization is a great way to reduce the fear and stress of a coming situation and increase your self-confidence.
Remember to take a deep breath and try to find something to do to get your mind off of you anxieties and stresses. A person could take a walk, listen to some music, read the newspaper, watch TV, play on the computer or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things. This will distract you from your current worries.
A lot of times, our worrying can make the problem even worse. All the worrying in the world will not change anything. All you can do is to do your best each day, hope for the best, and when something does happen, take it in stride. If you still have trouble managing your anxiety of the future, then talking to a counselor or clergyman can be of great help. There are ways to help manage your fear and all it takes is some effort to find those answers.
